What is on your list
— for each one: what it pays, what it involves, and how to actually get accepted
One charge, today, and nothing after it. No monthly fee, nothing renews. The $19 is the only money that goes to us — everything on the list pays you.
“I thought the only thing out there was those penny survey sites. The focus group I got into off this list paid me $150 for an hour and a half.” — Gerald M., Boise, ID
Each job only takes so many people. When one fills, the company closes it, and a new one opens somewhere else on your list.

$18.20 is the going rate across the opportunities we list — the average of what those companies pay for one paid opinion job. Some pay less, the focus groups and interviews pay a great deal more. It is paid by them, not by us: nobody at Citizens Opinion Panel sends you money. So $127.40 is what is sitting on today’s list, not a promise of what you will take home. What you actually earn depends on which ones you apply to, which ones accept you, and how many you do. See the earnings disclaimer.
“I expected a catch. There isn’t one. It is a list of companies, it says what each one pays, and it says how to get in. I started with the two easiest.” — Tanya L., Fresno, CA
“Two of us in this house think opposite things and we both got accepted off the same list. I find that funny every single time.” — Marcus K., Dayton, OH
“Some weeks there are four things open for my area, some weeks one. I do them when they come and I don’t think about it otherwise.” — Ruth P., Knoxville, TN
Citizens Opinion Panel is a private company, and here is the whole business in one line: we show ordinary people all the different things they can do to voice their opinion and get paid for it. Research panels, surveys, focus groups, mock juries, phone interviews, product and ad tests, call-in opinion lines. For each one we tell you what it pays, what it involves, and how to get accepted. Those companies pay you. We do not. The only money that comes to us is the $19 you pay for the list.
We are not a government agency or program, not an election office, and not connected to any campaign, political party or candidate. We do not register anyone to vote, we have nothing to do with your ballot, and nobody on the list pays you to hold or express a particular opinion. We are also not your employer, and we do not write the questions anybody asks you.
What you earn is between you and the companies you apply to. We cannot make any of them accept you, so we cannot and do not promise any particular amount, or anything at all.
